We’ve noticed a lot of new faces sign up for our blog over the past few weeks, and we’re so excited to share our insight with you! Now through the end of the year, our AnewPress team will be spending some time with our loved ones we’re looking forward to, which unfortunately means we will not be putting out 2 fresh blogs a week again until 2019. I wanted to take this time to introduce you to our Author Sucess Consultants, what we specialize in, and some of the blogs we are most proud of.
Published Author, Artist & Gifted Editor
It’s not uncommon for an author to spend so much time and effort getting that first book (or series of books) out into the world that once that’s done, the prospect of doing it again can seem overwhelming. The good news is, it probably won’t be as hard this time around – you just need to get started! Here are a few ideas to get you reconnected to your muse.
It’s every writer’s worst nightmare – you’ve had a friend or colleague read your manuscript, and the only feedback they have to offer is “it just wasn’t that interesting.” Or worse, they couldn’t manage to finish reading the book because it didn’t hold their attention. Aside from laying down on the floor and crying, what can you do about a boring book? Here are some handy tips to make it into a real page-turner.
Formatting and Cover Design virtuoso
It’s common to say that one should “never judge a book by its cover.” While that expression is true metaphorically, the literal translation of this expression is wrong. You should ALWAYS judge a book by its cover.
The Importance of Editing – Taking the Right Steps
A good edit is the single most important part of your book. Even if your book is not meant for a mass market distribution scenario, remember: your work will be available for the world to buy and read. Even those books meant for certain individuals are listed for any Tom, Dick, or Mary to purchase and review.
Customized Marketing Strategies
Better Living Through Chemistry: Smells, Snacks, and Sounds to Help Fight Writer’s Block (most retweets on Twitter)
We’re rapidly approaching winter, and if you’re like me, Seasonal Affective Disorder (also aptly named S.A.D. or seasonal depression) can really derail your creativity. More than 3 million Americans report SAD to their doctors each year…
I hear it a lot, why can’t I just SELL my book? Well, who are you selling TO? Let’s take a step back. What exactly is the difference between sales and marketing if both end up with someone buying and reading your book? Marketing is finding the perfect customer, whereas sales are showing your customer you have the best product for them.
Going into the new year, we would love to hear more about what you’re interests are, and what you want to learn from our blog. We take pride in delivering the services authors ask for, and we want our blog to be what you need too!
